Risk Awareness Week is scheduled for 5 days. Each day will teach you an important aspect of effective decision making. Day one is all about challenging the status quo and unlearning the so called best practices that have been fed to us for years.
Hear from different worlds: co-authors of the ISO31000, decision scientists, statisticians, complexity theorists and executives. They all come to the same conclusion – risk management is not about managing risks, it’s about better decision making.
Day one will be an important foundation to better appreciate the remaining workshops. During day two we will talk about neuroscience, cognitive biases and culture. Day three is all about quantitative risk analysis. Day four is about the technology that improves decision making and day five is about case studies bring risk and decision making together.

Do you feel sometimes that auditors are asking for all the wrong things when assessing risk management effectiveness? Do you wish that your boss better understood where you are coming from and what these graphs mean? Do you get frustrated when your colleagues view risk management as a monthly exercise and continue ignoring risks when making decisions?
We are here to help. As part of Risk Awareness Week we have created checklists, sample email text and graphics to help you raise risk awareness within your organisation. You can download them here https://riskacademy.blog/2019/09/02/risk-awareness-resources-improve-risk-awareness-in-your-workplace-riskawarenessweek2019/ and more is coming every week.
For example, here is a text you can email to your colleagues:

Hey guys, a friend of mine is running an online risk event specifically designed for non-risk managers [alternatively, …for legal professionals, for strategic managers, for investment professionals]. Many of the workshops will be very useful to your team. Check out the schedule: https://2019.riskawarenessweek.com/schedule/
It’s online, so can be watched live or in replay and a number of sessions can be attended free. I highly recommend it for all business units who have to make decisions under uncertainty and want to learn how to better utilise risk analysis tools.
Or maybe something like this:
I came across this free workshop by Sam Savage that covers why ignoring uncertainties causes projects to be behind schedule, beyond budget and below projection and how to overcome that with simple risk analysis:
