RAW2023: Breaking barriers and embracing sustainability in risk management

Hey, risk community!

I am excited to share some facts about the upcoming Risk Awareness Week 2023, and boy, do we have reasons to celebrate!

Firstly, a big shout out to all the amazing women in the risk and decision making field. Did you know that this year, 51% of our RAW2023 speakers are female? It’s heartening to see such representation, reflecting a broader shift in the risk management industry. The lineup includes voices from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, ensuring that the conference provides holistic, well-rounded insights.

In previous years, like many other industries, we’ve noticed a gender gap in speakers at major conferences. This change didn’t happen overnight, but we’re thrilled that RAW2023 is contributing to a more inclusive risk community. We hope it encourages other conferences and platforms to follow suit. It’s time to hear from everyone who brings their unique expertise and viewpoints to the table.

Speaking of tables, there’s no need to book a flight or hotel room for RAW2023. Why? Because we’re virtual again! Not only does this mean you can attend in your PJs if you like, but it also means we’re significantly reducing the carbon footprint that’s typically associated with big conferences. No travel means no flight emissions and less strain on the environment. With the climate crisis at the forefront of global challenges, every step, no matter how small, matters. Plus, think of all the coffee cups and printed materials we’re saving!

For us at RAW2023, it’s not just about discussing risk-based decision making; it’s about practicing what we preach. We’re proud of our commitment to inclusivity and sustainability, and we’re grateful for a community that supports and believes in these values.

RAW2023 is shaping up to be an event to remember – insightful, diverse, and eco-friendly. If you’ve not registered yet, now’s your chance to be part of something special. And if you have, spread the word. Let’s make this the biggest and greenest Risk Awareness Week yet!

See you all there (virtually, of course)! πŸŒπŸŽ‰πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ’ΌπŸ‘¨πŸΎβ€πŸ’ΌπŸŒ±
